What to Look to Look for When Buying an Investment Property
I'm going live with a duplex as soon as I get these photos back, and I thought it was an excellent time to address investment properties. My family owns and manages several Oak Cliff rental properties, and these are the things I suggest you consider when looking for your first investment property.

This duplex listing is move-in ready and in excellent condition. It has been taken to the studs making it an easy first investment. Also, I'd live there. It is walking distance to Jefferson and a bike ride to Bishop Arts. Each side is 1/1 with top-notch amenities making it perfect for occupying one side while renting out the other. If you intend to occupy the duplex, FHA allows a down payment as low as 3.5% down, and FHA rates are pretty decent right now. I'd recommend having a tenant lined up right away. Finally, we know Dallas, and especially Oak Cliff, housing prices are on the rise. Still, this one is adjacent to a larger new apartment community and has the potential to bring an even higher rate of return on your investment.
